So I am trying to enjoy a nice quiet afternoon in my palatial estate and instead have to listen to someone's dog bark non-stop.

After loud kids I don't think anything is more annoying than a dog barking constantly.

For my next estate I am getting a bigger lot or thicker windows.

If you had a 'palatial estate' ... there would be no dogs barking other than yours.

or...

is this your idea of 'palatial'

I had a neighbour who's corgi barked non-stop when they put it outside. It either wanted in really bad, or was barking at traffic. They'd stick it out at 5am during the week because the guy left work work early. Always woke me up.

The problem was, the dog was a "fur baby" to that family. I'd always see their kids picking it up and carrying around like a doll. That's why I think it would bark when left alone. Wanted attention. I was very happy when they moved. Of course now my new neighbour had two cats that use my yard as a litter box.

There's little I hate more than the sound of a dog barking. That's 60% of the reason I won't own a dog.

Barking dogs, motorcycle engines, babies crying... these are a few of my LEAST favorite things.

I think he's referring to the weird secondary micro garage, and the overall plastic/pre-fab look, crammed into obnoxious fake subdivision that is so popular these days.

ahh.. the ones that look like they were built on an assembly line... probably because they were

Too bad you can't have that house on an acre. I lived in a nice little home like that. I loved it except for the fact it was on a tiny lot like yours. The problem is finding a decent house with land that doesn't cost a fortune.

the 2nd garage is most likely a garden tool shed/storage. lawnmower and shit like that

and I agree on the prefab house crap, the worst part about those subdivisions is that there are no large trees anywhere because they cut everything down when they build them and then plant some new trees

It's true. Although, give them 30 years and there will be large trees.

yeah it's the whole prefab plastic look I see with a lot with American homes, here in Denmark 99.9999999% of all homes are solid brick houses.

New brick houses are rare in the US. Costs more, pretty much only see it on older homes now, or apt buildings

It's not so much cut down woods, as cornfield subdivisions. The worst part is people don't seem to care. There's some around me that have been there for 20 years, and they still look like cornfields with McMansions sprouted up in them. I guess trees interfere with their precious grass. It's gotta look like a golf course, and you can't do that with trees. Americans have no aesthetic sense :^S

I'm just curious, not that I think I would do this (but who the hell knows if it were ever annoying enough), but can you actually call in a noise complaint due to this?
