i had to turn off DVD hardware acceleration in powerdvd to get it to work with the 3.4 drivers. otherwise, i would get a physical memory dump.

Stop wasting your time and re-install windows!!!!!!!

that's a pretty drastic thing to do. it's not very bright to risk data if the problem can be solved without reinstalling the OS.

Wow this is really bad. I have considered getting a 9700 Pro after reviewing the currently available crop of nvidia cards.

Guess I should start rethinking that plan. I have never had a ATI card, doesn't sound like I want one:confused:

What data risk? Obviously, you should back up your data before reinstalling windows.

Why do people "upgrade" to 3.4 if its gonna cause problems? my CATALYST 2.4 works fine with powerDVD.

Yeah, i was going to ask the same thing. There's been 2 patches for PowerDVD that fix this with ATI cards. Working fine for me with Hardware Acceleration on.

I would ask if you had powerdvd when you had your other card. If you did you might want to uninstall it, delete it's program folder and reinstall it. But, I can't help noticing you said dxdiagnostics said you had agp texture acceleration disabled. That being the case, you should install your motherboard agp drivers, then reinstall your catalyst drivers. If you don't have agp texture acceleration enabled your performance will really suffer.
