I am so sick of Acrobat Reader. Causes nothing but problems in the labs here since 50% of the people who access an online PDF file try to print it through the "File -> Print" in IE. That won't print the file. The other 50% actually use the "Print" button in the Acrobat Reader frame, but 50% of the time that doesn't work either. The only way to reliably get PDF files to print is to have the students save them to the hard disk first and then print from Acrobat Reader itself (not the IE integration).

If PDF files would just open within a new instance of Acrobat Reader it would be so much better.

Now I really have to scratch my head when I see it on warez!

thats how i view PDF files.
god reader must be bloated or something or they cant get the IE integration right...
it just seems to crash my browser everytime i try to open it in IE.

god reader must be bloated or something or they cant get the IE integration right...

That's not true, there are TONS of warez'd $30 programs. I'd have to agree that people would be more inclined to purchase rather than deal with the hack'n and crack'n though.

i love adobe photoshop. literally. its like my favorite program. i like reader, and illustrator as well. i've heard good things about GoLive. Go adobe!

btw, prices don't effect me, so i don't take that into consideration.

Thats what Photoshop Elements or Photoshop Album is for. Buying Photoshop for retouching personal vacation pictures is like buying a Boeing 747 jet to get to the corner store and back.

As for photoshop being sold for $650.. thats incredibly cheap considering the power of photoshop. You can do almost anything to a picture with it, and then theres 20+ ways of doing everything.

And for acrobat, Im not a fan of opening pdf's while surfing the web, as Leo Laporte says, it sort of 'interupts' the flow of surfing. Thats not really acrobats flault, but more so the web-designers. I've been reading a large book in PDF format and its great, since you can go full screen and make the text nice and big, and it still looks crystal clear.

i've never had a problem using imageready for that kind of thing. you have to select the frame you want to work on in the little timeliney thing...

I do that, but when I try to edit in the main window, the change gets applied to all frames.

Adobe makes professional products. Most on here dont really need photoshop etc.

Adobe makes a killing, because any company that uses warez, gets sued for hundreds of thousands of dollars. Home users are not the market adobe is catering to. Its just like Maya, or Max, or XSI. These are programs cost $3,000-$12,000, they arent for the home user. The home user doesnt need a powerful photo editor, or illustrator.
