I had an idea for a great dessert tonight

Last Saturday the GF and I made bacon and waffles for breakfast. I shit you not, but my GF's immediate prep after everything was finished was to place the bacon in a waffle, fold waffle, and then eat her new waffle-bacon sandwich.

I fail all of AT for not taking pics of this divine moment in culinary history. 🙁

What kind of cake ?

I would never ever ever cook or eat it, but I really need to live vicariously through an adventurous atot chef with a deep frier 😛

Not that it's a bad idea, but you need to go the Turducken route...

That deep fried cake slice needs to be put into another deep fried treat, or two, maybe three...

Maybe a deep fried slice of apple pie, covered with bacon....

Ah, why not? Once in a while isn't going to kill you.

Deep fried cake would have to be battered. There's just too much fat in the cake itself and in the icing, not to mention the relatively low moisture and low density. It would soak up oil like no other and the icing would melt otherwise, definitely wouldn't be appetizing.

I can imagine something like chocolate cake being really good in a funnel cake batter.

wait wait wait.... haven't they invented this, and called it a donut?

They (cake style) go in as batter. What I envisioned from Loki is an already made cake, fried.
