so after having a vasectomy does still something come out or does it feel like your are 9 again?

"something" (semen) does "come out" (ejaculate) and without getting too graphic, everything is the same except there is no sperm in the semen.

my dr told me to masturbate 15 times on on old #16 to ejaculate in the plastic jar she gave me and to take in to test to make sure there were no sperm. I kept track with a Visa-Vis pen on the bathroom mirror hehe

one thing that happend to me... about 2 months after my visit to the vet after 20 seconds after "the moment" it felt like i was kicked right in the nuts. went back to the dr and she felt around and said it was scar tissue and gave me a months worth of motrin to reduce it. and after a month no more pain. Other than that no problems and glad that I had it done.

and MelikK there is absoutly no difference in the way it feels. In fact I think it feels better because I dont have to worry about getting my wife pregnant.

I must share my pain with you all
I am 42: had a vasectomy about 10 years ago. It sucked- the anaesthetic wore off 3/4 of the way through the procedure, the needles hurt like hell.
About a year after the procedure I developed a " granuloma" in the left side. Basically the way things works, is when the boys try to leave the station, they get blocked by either a stainless staple ( in my case) or a cauterized tube. They then dissolve back into the body. In rare cases ( like me, of course) they crystallize, and cause a small lump, that hurts like hell when the Captain is at attention.( they put pressure on a nerve cluster).
I had to have a 2nd procedure, involving removing the stapled section, having the doc sutchering ( sp?) up the 2 ends. It sucked, and took 1 1/2 hours. I was sweating so bad and light headed when done, I almost hit the floor when I stood up.
My ahole doctor wouldn't prescribe any meds during the initial vasectomy, but I was smart and brought a Spanish armada with me for the 2nd go-round. To make things better, the only road leading to the facility I went to was torn up for construction- can you say OWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!
NOW is where it gets really interesting... A year after that , I started getting pain the OTHER side!!!!!!!! I said NO FRIGGIN WAY am I gonna go through the 2nd procedure again, so I just let it go. After a couple of months, the pain just went away, and I haven't had a problem in 8 or 9 years. DID I really need the 2nd procedure????

Hmmm.. my ex always whined about the possiblity of getting a vascetomy,I guess it was easier to watch me get cut stem to stern from c-sections and then later to watch me lose both fallopian tubes from the resulting infections and scar tissue.

I got one about a year ago, and the most pain/swelling I had was 2 small bruises about the size of a quarter. It was virtually pain-free and the Dr. didnt even prescribe any pain killers, he told me that he was confident enough in his work that if I followed his aftercare instructions, I would have no pain, he was correct.

It seems that after a month or so, I still had to be slightly careful about getting too much bouncing action, or they would start to feel strange.

The new vasectomy procedure is really such a minor deal, I cant believe so many of you are so sqeamish about it. Hell lancing a boil or something is probably more painful than the vasectomy.

I was thinking of getting one so my wife doesn't have to take bc anymore. I was wondering about the cost of the procedure. We don't have medical insurance right now and my wife's bc is covered by Medicaid. Would a vascetomy be covered by that too?

I had whats called a no scaple vascetomy. Here's a quick explaination of what he did. First he cleaned mr gential ares with idione (sp) and put a drape type dressing the only my nads showed tru. He stuck a needle in my nads to numb the. I felt a slight pinch but thats it, you can pinch the skin on your nuts and it doesn't really hurt. he then used a pair of scissors to cut about a 1/2 inch cut in the center of my balls, he pulled out each tube and cut about 1/2 of and inch out and burned the ends. He did both tubes from the same incision and the whole process took about 30 minutes including the prep time. I'm the biggest pussy when it comes to pain but I can say I felt nothing during the whole process.

After hearing that I don't think I'll walk right for at least a week maybe a month!!!!

I have to concur with this statement as well. Pre snip, I never consciously thought or worried about getting my wife pregnant during the act but after the snip, the sex did seem better. I am guessing that there actually was some subconcious worry/fear going on and that knowing for sure that it wasn't going to happen alleviated that subconscious thought/worry. After all, sex is mostly mental.

A kind of funny ancedote when I had mine done:

After the proceedure was completed, the nurse who had been there the whole time assisting, said that she'd turn around so I could get dressed. I had been naked from the waist down for the past 45 minutes with her seeing everything. Modesty had gone out the window long before it was time for me to get dressed.

Usually not, my insurance paid for it but I heard the cost in under $500
