I had a piano recital last night...

Sounds quite good. That Youtube link sounds terrible though. It makes you sound like you're playing on one of those ultra-cheap keyboards that only knows how to play music from the 80s.

Sounds good. What's the name of the piece that you are playing?

Thanks, everyone, for your compliments 🙂. The piece is Mozart's Sonata in D Major K. 284 (Allegro). It's supposed to be played much faster, but I just didn't have enough time for preparation to play that fast.

If you have iTunes, here is a direct link to the piece in the Music Store.

I hear this piece played at almost every recital I've been to. Yet I've never been given one of the popular pieces to play by my piano teacher. Mmmmm. I've probably only played two Mozart pieces in my whole life. Plenty of Chopin and Beethoven though.

What piano were you playing on? I've only been able to play on a Steinway D in my whole life...

well looks like I'm just going to upload an mp3 because I don't have enough space for the video.

well here ya go. Sorry about the crappy quality. It even sounds like I'm missing notes in some parts but that's becuase the bass keeps overpowering the treble. Anyway here it is.

Well, considering you're already a cocky douche by nature, I have to say your right hand sounds really messy, and it sounds like you're fudging through the piece, like playing a trill with vibrato on a violin.

Honestly, it's not bad, but you're playing way too heavily and stoic for a light virtuoso piece. I bet if you practiced more, it would be 100x better than what you played then.

My two cents.

^^

Haven't played the piece in over a year. Tried to play it really fast to get it uploaded. fudged all of it.

You have a good ear

Funny, I'd never heard that piece before @ any concert, etc. My dad, a classical music expert, and has a 500+ CD collection, also couldn't recall the piece. Strange. Anyways, it was a Baldwin piano, but my teacher owns a Steinway Grand, so that's what I play on every week for her (I own some crappy piano, can't remember the name of it, and I'm not at my dads house right now). It sounds MUCH better on the Steinway then it does on the Baldwin.

Yeah, I noticed this once it was posted, so I added the MP3 above, which sounds pretty good.

Crescent, I agree that you're good, but there's no need to come into my thread, where I was just showing my happiness for playing my piece through without blanking out, and to show off and flaunt your skills. Honestly, grow up.
