No he's a wierdo

however I do like that one song..... I haven't heard it in years. The video was played slow and I think it was at a circus. It was all drab looking. I liked that song. What was it?

He's actually quite intelligent, but I am personally not a fan of his music.

[typical MM lyric]

I had a little monkey
And it looked like you
I poked it with my satan stick
And got covered in goo

It's not that it's a little bitch
Or that it's back door makes me itch
But it's that you are my queen
So gossip on your social scene

[/typical MM lyric]

The music rocks, pretty much. I don't care for the sexually confused people making said music, but the tunes do rock...and that's what it's all really about.

ps
I could write his songs, yes? :D

Don't listen to Manson, but I came across a very interesting tidbit of information while reading the trivia page of Alejandro Jodorowsky (Cult film GOD) on IMDB -

"Conducted the wedding ceremony of Marilyn Manson and Dita Von Teese, in Ireland in December 2005."

i used to be a really big manson fan back when portrait and smells like children came out...i don't listen to them much any more after holy wood, that album was terrible...but i liked everything up to mechanical animals, i still listen to them occassionally

interesting tidbit of my own: if you look on the smells like children cd and read the fine print around the edge at the end of the print it says "keep this and all drugs away from small children" "laugh;

EDIT: now i'm listening to "dance of the dope hats"

love this song

I listen to him, and I see him when hes in my area, mostly on Ozzfest or Family values tours (been to each one since 1996)

The best show I saw him at was at Toads Place in New Haven CT, general admission show, before he was as popular as he is now.

Yes, Michael you could write his songs. I like his earlier stuff alot but like most artist/bands the energy seems to leave further along their careers.

Portrait of an American Family is a classic mid 90's album

I remember buying it in 1995 before anyone knew who they were. My best friend and I saw them at a very small club right after it came out. I purchased it when I heard they were going on tour with NIN during the Downward Spiral tour. I had a demo tape of a few songs and it was SO different from what was currently out on the market.

at the concert we went to, a girl ended up cutting herself all up before the concert and an metro police agent was in plain close in the croud. The got her and her mom was waiting around outside the front door.

Manson came out in a totally dark room with a drop light singing the first song off their CD (prelude family trip) off Willy Wonka. It was so awesome.

Funny thing about the story. I was wearing the exact same shirt that the entire road crew was wearing that night, no joke. I walked around back of 328 performance hall and walked right in the back door. They all throught I was a roadie. I walked around and talked to Daisy getting dressed and Ginger Fish. They signed a broke drum stick for me and were really cool to talk to. I had probably 4-6 people tell me to "get back to work" because they alll thought I was a roadie. I ended up getting thrown out of the club, but it was worth it. Manson was sitting in a corner with a towel over his head. He was wacked out on coke as far as I could tell.

This was all WAY before they became famous. I'm VERY glad I saw them before they were all egotistic assholes. Daisy made the band and it's a shame he left, but he made the right move. That's why their music sucked ever since.

I'm in exactly the same boat. I only rarely listen these days and I still quite enjoy the Portrait album, and Mechanical Animals never gets old. Antichrist Superstar used to be my favourite Manson album but it's too dark for me these days, although I can still listen to some of the tunes (still love the title track and Irresponsible Hate Anthem).

I actually feel like listening to some Manson now, after reading this thread.

And to the people who are knocking him because of the type of person he is - who cares? I don't give a toss what kind of person he is, I just listen to the music. I think the man is deplorable but I'm listening to an album, all that matters is the music. And FYI, his biography, The Long Hard Road Out of Hell , is a brilliant book and I recommend it to anyone, whether they like Manson or not.

I was HUGE Manson fan, but Antichrist Superstar (favorite Manson CD) was his last great CD. After that, crap.

lol, ironically holy wood is the only CD of his that I own-because it was like $2 from BMG.

I don't ever actually listen to it though, so I guess I'll agree that it's crap (or at least, nothing that I want to listen to).

Anyways, seeing as how I'm not an angry and angsty 13 year old I think the answer would be no.

PLEASE listen to Portrait of American Family. It's an amazing CD and worth listening to. Anything after that is crap (including the cd you bought).

HERE IS MY OWN HELL...here is my real hell. I wear this ****** mask because you cannot handle me.
HA, now you got me listening to manson and I hate the dude. lol
