"It wasn't funny!!! I walked in my house and it was some government thing that they were replacing all pc's with mac cubes...I couldn't even find the power switch... And it was just sitting on the floor I was like "What the fvck is this?" and they were saying..."All pc's are to be destroyed, we like the cubes better." Fvck I was pissed."

Funniest set of qoutes I've read all week :) Gonna use it as my sig now.

My friend told me he ordered an Imac. I didn't call him for like a month. When I did call him again, he had already sent it back. Now he started saying something about the Mac Cube and I told him to just buy a PIII from Dell. Don't know what the hell he was thinking...

The Mac Cube is an excellent piece of engineering. I wouldn't want it at home, but I'd love to have it at work, with a flat screen. The thing is absolutely gorgeous. A beige PC looks like crap in comparison. And the fact that it's noiseless is a HUGE bonus. If I had a humungous expense account (needed for this thing) and an IT dept. that supported Mac, I'd get it.

One of the problems with PCs I've noticed after building a few is that the cases are almost universally crappy to mediocre, and overheating is not just due to the hot CPU but because of the lousy airflow. The Cube design is a design marvel.

I have never used a mac but I note that a man who runs a computer shop says that people swear at their PCs but mac users don't swear at their macs.
Even people who don't really want to know about computers can get on with a mac, and have for years and years.

So basically Eug your saying if you had a big company you feel you could afford to waste money.

The poor airflow cases are due to buying cheap cases. Buy a good quality case like the Antec Sx830 which come with 2 fans and space for 2 more and you might not have a problem.

The cube design is just a gimmick. It is like choosing a golden orb over an alpha heatsink because it looks "Prettier".

Sure it's a gimmick, but it's a well-designed one. Take a look at it and you'll see why. I do appreciate practical well-built stuff... I have an Aopen HX80 which I think is a better case than the Antec 1030 in some respects (although not as good in others). And I use an Alpha.

However, both of those PC cases are ugly as hell, and the fact that they need several fans is an issue. I would love to be able to have a nice high-speed system that looks good and doesn't make any noise for my office. Not too many exist. And yes, if I was an executive in a large company, I wouldn't mind having one (whether it be a PC or a Mac).

My main issue with the Cube is Mac OS 9. It truly sucks. OS X is looking great though.

i had a dream that i owned a laptop that had a bunch of nano-machines inside, so every time a new technology would come out that would make other computers obsolete, mine would self upgrade with the nano-machines rebuilding the inside. it also had wireless internet from anywhere in the world and i never needed to use a cd for games, it automatically downloaded the games into the hard disk magically. i love that machine.

Rigoletto, people do not swear at their macs as much as pc people do about their computer because the majority of people buying macs are computer-illiterate and are looking for nice colours and don't know any better. I have used a mac, and I could not use one all the time.

even though the cube looks like crap...the "ball" speakers it comes with would go great with a plex case.

Eug, give it up, its a lost cause trying to convince people to not hate macs, or 3dfx or whatever.

Wouldnt matter even if they did have a comp that was all Jobs said it was(which would be, supperior to a PC in every way), some people would say it sucks anyway "cause its a Mac".

macs suck. and especially those speakers. they can hardly even put out. plus the silver paper/foil thing on them (that makes the sound....i don't know what it's called) moves like a biatch every time the slightest sound is made. when you turn up the volume, the speakers sound and look like they're gonna blow up.

the system is overpriced and generally sucks in my opinion. it's for the stupid rich kids who just want to have a cool looking machine w/o knowing anything about computers. like my roomate. but he's just illerate as it is (not limited to computerss).

but yes, i hate macs.

Jonny, I am sure that Macs are not QUITE the Noddy of the computer world.
And fellas, what's wrong with style, huh?
For most people a computer that lets 'em get on the web, print something, and maybe play a couple of games without giving them major distress (PC OWNERS TAKE NOTE) is pretty sound in principle.
Macs can also edit video, which stops you rascals suggesting an old 486 for your grandma.

Nothing, as long as you don't have to pay 2-3 times as much for it. I buy a computer to use it, not to look at its coloured case.
