It all comes down to finding a tolerable mix of helping the customer and keeping the bottom line in mind. Rarely, if ever, do any of my customers walk out unhappy and I add more than my fair share to the store margin dollars. Anyone with half a brain and a shred of charisma can sell.

I work in retail, & i hate how it gets generalized that we are nothing but money-hungry scum.

Yesterday at work, i convinced a guy not to buy the 9600SE or the FX5200 he was looking at, & instead sent him to a competitor to buy a 9600XT (he couldn't quite afford a 9800 Pro).

Anyone who needs help with a spyware removal program...i sure as heck don't try to sell them the crap we carry. They usually leave with a piece of paper with urls for Firefox & Adaware & Spybot Search & Destroy.

Sadly, there are many dumbasses who don't care...but many people do try their best :)

i didn't read your post, but shut up, you're nothing but money-hungy scum, like all the rest of 'em.

I don't like BB based on how they treat me just because I'm female and walking into the networking or hardware sections.
