Here is an interesting conversation with my wife recently:

Me: Are you still at Walmart
Her: No, I'm headed to Krogers
Me: Good, check on the price for a turducken
Her: A what?
Me: A turducken
Her: A cher - what?
Me: A turducken - Turkey, Duck, Chicken
Her: Is that a breed?
Me: o_O

Once you make the connection between the name and what it actually is, you never forget :p

It sounds disgustingly delicious, like most southern food. Never had it, never seen it for sale here except on special order.

I heard of it from John Madden for awhile but never had one - hate duck and give away the ones I shoot.

Around the holidays you can sometimes find it in Krogers or HEB down here in Texas.

i think the kroger's on gray in houston had them year round.

it's another cajun specialty that houston is lucky enough to get

Oh yummy I love turducken, headed to Kroger tomorrow. It is a little pricey though. I would drive across town for it, and it's a big town.

We get them around Thanksgiving and Christmas at Harris-Teeter. Always good, totally worth the time that goes into defrosting and cooking it.

I only heard about them a couple years ago. However, this is in California where the only "Southern" food is Mexican food.

At least it isn't as bad as what the roman's served and considered it a feast.
Flamingo stuffed with duck stuffed with mice with a side of roast parrot w feathers attached, and vinegar in a lead bowl for desert.
