So I make a thread about a cut I suffered to my toe:

Then I make a thread about Biore strips:

and a mod locks it....so little stubs of oil and dirt are NOT acceptable, but blood and gore are?

The mods are only human, but seriously, there is obviously no clear policy or uniformity of who controls what.

So is this place going down the tubes or what?

P.S. I fear that the solution will be that the toe thread will be locked, too...as opposed to the opposite. That would the be gutless choice.

I fail to see the problem. You created a thread at 12:15AM, posted a picture of your cut toe where some members offered advice for how to get it to heel quicker, and then you posted a thread at 10:16PM, which asked a simple question but also later included a picture which made the topic more disgusting, as some members even pointed out in the thread. Your reason is obvious, yet probably is one of the two or both reasons: Pimples are more disgusting than blood to most people, as there was even a call for the lock of the second thread in it (and was probably reported to by the mods in a PM), and just possibly, since you were posting at 12:15AM the mods have a life and missed your thread and it slipped under the scope, and maybe another mod was on duty when your thread was locked. Maybe its just me but I do not see too much wrong with the first post, but the second post IMO deserves to be locked as I find it very disgusting and another thing that can take away from the quality of the forums ("pimple farmers" as the mod said on a computer forum, yeah kind of cliche).

Also I am pretty sure this could have been handled by PM rather than trying to call out the mods in forum issues.

I don't even know who the mods are, the one who locked my thread did not identify him or herself, so am I supposed to PM some third party and hope they take on my case?

I guess I have different values than the average person (as far as not seeing where pimples would be inappropriate where gashes with blood would be). I can accept that.

Let's see if I can shed some light on this for you.
1. The post about your toe had a warning on it. We actually had some complaints but since it had the warning and was an injury that might need medical care, we let it go.

2. Your pimple farmer post was not an injury, was classless and uncouth.

3. You don't make the rules, this is a private forum and we decide what goes and what doesn't.

4. With your present track record, I surmise that one of the things to go will be you if you don't reign yourself in.

Of course this is just my opinion, I may be wrong.

So "Anandtech Moderator" is a collective of individuals, with all power concentrated in one account? I didn't realize that. Interesting. No wonder I couldn't figure out who the moderators were.

"classless and uncouth?" kinda harsh, dontcha think, given that plenty of people said they love doing Biores too? And that at least one does Biore-offs with his wife?

They show pictures of used Biores on TV ads.

Oh, but Anandtech must have higher standards than broadcast TV. Pillars of propriety, we are. Defenders of the pure from the uncouth and classless.
