Also did some spec checking. Athena Power has 20 amps? Huh... I know from what I read that PSU had 25 amps.

First of all, I have to admit that it wasn't the smartest thing to go to a LAN party without a computer.

It does sound to me (with the brand-name switching, etc) that they're trying to pull a fast one on you. I don't see how it's your fault the PSU blows after you shut down the machine properly. I'd just tell them to get bent.

Of course, you'll never be allowed back to that LAN party, so I guess it's up to you. Whether you want to go back, or them to make a sucker out of you.

You asked to use it and they broke it. If someone uses my computer and blows my PSU I don't expect them to pay for it since if it was going to blow, its gonna blow, isn't their fault. None of this is your fault since you didn't sign anything saying that you are liable for damage to their computer.

Looks like they're trying to scam you by switching out the brand of ram and lying about the PSU's amps so tell them to screw off and have them replace their own garbage computer.

if that's the case tell them to suck it, they said you could use the server, and I assume they saw you installing your video card. They could have prevented it, but they didn't.

Actually the guy installed it for me, and another guy took it out cause I had trouble *I didn't yank it hard enough to make cracks or something.* Ram I took it out myself cause its that easy...

512MB of cheap ram doesnt cost that much and neither does a cheapo PSU either...well, if you have money, that is.

it is kinda silly that you went to a lan party without a mobo, and only your x800xt and 1GB of ram...
