i never abide by the 3 day rule. Just call and ask how her day was and if she is free in the coming weekend. Making it very noncholant and aloof.

I see where you are coming from, but just be honest with her from the start. Don't overdo anything (i.e. call or leave msg more than twice a day) but don't really think and plan anything. Chances are, it will not go according to any plan.

Yes in hindsight leaving a message was not the best move, but I'm not going to call her several times a day until she picks up..not in the days of caller ID. I don't plan on calling her again until next week. That is all.
