Your right I am a sane carzy person. I speak in tongues, believe in praying for the sick to see God heal them, and believe in casting out devils too. And you know what, they will bury me being crazy. LOL 🙂

Do you believe that people who don't share your beliefs are going to hell?

It don't really matter much what I believe. If God said a person must be born again to spend eternity in heaven. Then a person has to accept Christ and be born again. My belief has nothing to do with the facts.

How come God says you have to be born-again in the New Testament but not in the old? hmm

They chose what they wanted to include in the New Testament. It had nothing to do with the words of God. The New Testament is Christian's way of controlling the concept of God and making a God out of Jesus. I don't know how anyone can take the New Testament to be the truth of all things and the words of God.
And the old testament was written by God? Gimme a break tinkerhell, your hypocrisy amuses me.

Did I say the old testament was written by God? Hell, did I even say I believe in God?

Your stupidity amuses me.

If any of you have actually read the bible you would understand that the bible was entirely written by God. There were men which actually stuck the pen to the paper and have books named after them, but God's holy spirit worked through these men (and women) to write down his word. In Revelations this is explicitly clear as an Angel came and spoke to a man to deliver the message of the end of man.

I'm sorry, but I have to disagree with your opinion. I've read certain aspects of the Bible, and I must say I don't think to myself 'This certainly was written by God'. There is no proof, admit it. Just because a person wrote that God spoke through him doesn't make it true. Do you believe everything you are told? I'm just trying to get people to step outside their box, and admit to the fact that their is no proof God exists or doesn't exist. How can you be so certain about something and stand there and say 'Its the absolute truth' 'It clearly states...' Open your mind.

I have opened my mind. The whole concept of being a Christian is FAITH. We don't need proof because we feel God's prescence with us, and we have faith that he's in heaven.

Why is it now-a-days most people have built themselves up on needing proof to believe in something. It takes a more open mind to believe in something you cannot see, and touch than it does to not believe in something without proof.

When Christ came to walk the earth he made all things new and many of the teachings in the old testament Jesus has said are not necessary as long as you know and love him. There is a lot of old practices in the old testament which it was very hard to get into heaven by obeying all of the old testament teachings. Jesus came to the earth to bridge that gap between God and man, and bring us closer to him.

The absurdity of your question is telling. It shows your blind willingness to discount thousands of years of evolution and progress. The things that you have today (cars, computers, TV's..etc.) were all made possible through science and its accepted methods. These very accomplishments have made believers out of the majority of rational thinking people, believers in the Scientific Method. Why should people embrace things based on belief alone w/o evidence to back it up? How should we discern fact from fiction if we were to believe based on faith alone? What you propose has no logical basis in science, a tool many of us believe in, which is not based on faith, but in applied method.

I agree! Well stated!

Let me go a step further in saying if we don't need proof to believe in something, I will believe in the Easter Bunny and Santa.

If you have proof, it's no longer a BELIEF. It's knowledge. You don't believe that there's a computer monitor in front of you, you KNOW it. God is testing you to BELIEVE in him. It's no big deal to KNOW something because you see proof.

Well then we better revise the Bible to say:

WARNING!! This book is not proof of anything. It's just enough for you to believe whatever you believe. All quoting of scripture from here on out is strictly PROHIBITED! You can no longer quote because none of this is fact otherwise it wouldn't be faith. To have faith in God you must burn this book and forget anything you read, otherwise you might rely on proof thus negating your beliefs and turning them into facts.

Why would go create me and then not offer proof of his existence even though my immortal soul rests in the balance?
A: If God exists then he is a sadist.

I find this quite interesting. Didn't I read earlier that the bible was written by God, through the hands of men? Taking this into account, God has changed his mind, he's made quite a few errors in the Old Testament, mistakes. "No, no.... I wrote that Old Testament just for practice, this New Testament is the real deal". Who's gonna buy that? Why would God make a manuscript knowing he would change many of it's teachings in the future? So Jesus has corrected his dad's mistakes in the New Testament is what I'm gathering from the above quote. That error doesn't sound very Godly to me. But unless you have an open mind, not willing to latch onto far fetched ideas without looking into the whole picture first, I guess you yourself would be "blinded" by the methodical brainwashing that is Christianity and most other religions.

I was born and raised a Christian, Baptist specifically. In my mid 20's is when I starting pondering the validity of my religious beliefs. Feeling guilty when cursing, or having bad thoughts, or other things that I had been told all my life were sins. I'm sure these episodes of suspicion will be labeled as Satan's influence on me by some. Christianity brainwashes you so much, you always think God is watching, so I was literally scared, intimidated to even ponder that God & religion is largely if not completely a farse. I felt guilty for having these thoughts & feelings. They seem to have all bases covered. Like telling you that it's Satan that is pulling you away from God when something like that above happens. I have more I could talk about, just gonna stop for now.

Sorry, but this logic fails. I don't believe in things that can't be proven or have some underlying basis in fact. I believe there is a monitor on my desk because I know there is. Having proof doesn't preclude believing.

The statement "God is testing you to believe in him" assumes that God is real and it can be proven. How else could he test you if he weren't real? However, accepting it as a test/belief betrays the obvious implication that there is no proof that God exists, which in turn means that your statement "God is testing you to believe in him" was created by Man. So in essence, you are being asked by Man to believe. That is where the problem is. I believe very few of us would have a problem believing if we were asked by God herself.

If I were to die and there was a heaven I would be going there, because would love me for who I am and respect that I have opinions. How dare you try and saw your better than me and I'll be going to hell. I know you didn't come out and say that, but I know thats what your thinking. Get off your high horse. Why don't you have a little faith that God is all loving, and wouldn't cast people he created into hell.

Here's a double-standard for ya. I think the Christian response to your above question would be "God gives us a chance at life on earth, and we have to prove ourselves, it's up to us to earn our way into Heaven" or whatnot. But if something bad happens in your life, you get paralyzed, or you don't get that job you really wanted, etc., they'll say "I guess it wasn't in God's plan" as if everything is already planned out. If that was so, why would he plan for us to sin and go to hell?

My point exactly. Either:
1) He's not all knowing
2) He doesn't love all of us
3) No one is going to hell

Take your pick.
