I got Tased last night.

When my cousin was going through physical therapy for his torn ACL, he had one of those electroshock stimulators. I decided it'd be fun to put all 4 pads on me and crank up the juice. Boy was I wrong. It was exactly as you had described - couldn't breath, couldn't move, my cousin was there to turn it off. I just laid there for about 2 minutes after it was turned off. 🙂

Yeah, it's so hard to describe. I took it via alligator clips hooked on my left hip & right shoulder. When it was over it felt like I got hit by a car right in the chest...it took a couple seconds to get my breath back.

is that the same thing they use on cops where the taser can either shoot out those sharp darts into your body and jolt you with like 10,000 volts?

I'm curious about this too. Did you just take the shock, and then after the shock was done you could have gotten back up and fought, or does it knock you down and make you tired/sore?

I have pt with those. when the tech leaves I can play around with the settings. you can get your whole body jerking lol

its not fun, just something I had to try.. a taser must be way worse.

I felt my entire body go limp right after it shut off and I regained control like a second later. It took a few seconds to get my breath back, though. It probably wouldn't have knocked the wind out of me so much if I had it hooked up in a way that the current didn't directly cross my chest.

Yes, but it's 50,000 volts, not 10,000, which doesn't matter anyway. It's the amps that creates the shock, not the volts...the media likes to cling to the big number, though.

It knocks you down, but when it shuts off you're ok. All it takes is another trigger pull to shock you again, though, so trying to fight between shocks is a bad idea.

It's totally different.

I still haven't had OC exposure and in the 19 months I've been an LEO I've never seen someone get sprayed in the field, so I can't make a concrete decision. I do know that I don't ever want to get tased again, though.

I'm not sure what you're saying, but if both probes get within 2 cumulative inches of the person's skin and have a seperation of at least 4 inches they'll drop completely no matter how big they are, and you can handcuff them even while they're being tased.

Nah, I know you've seen those police vids from the forward windshield cam of people getting pulled over and tased. I saw a COPS episode once that had three cops wrestling this HUGE dude and tasing him. It took them a good five minutes to get him cuffed from the first taser hit. :Q
 
hehe, my friend has a video of his "class" (or whatever you call it) at the police academy getting tazed. The barbs fell off the first two times so he had to get hit 3 times in order to sustain the full duration shock...it was really quite amusing 😀
 
if ur in nyc.. ill offer some free tazing... have taser and cheap o stun gun... whichever you preferred...
