I got stitches in my tongue yesterday **PICS**

I was playing basketball, driving to the hoop, one of the guys tried blocking me but hit me in the face instead. I bit down on my tongue pretty hard, had a deep laceration. Part of it went all the way through my tongue.

Pic was taken with my camera phone, so it kind of sucks. You cant really tell how deep the cut is in the photo. The doc at the ER where I got stitched up said he sees this like every 10 years lol.

edit: Is it ok to work out when you have stitches (free-weights)?

Ouch. Looks like it hurts.

In other news, I got 15 stitches in my forehead on Thursday (4 under the surface and 11 on the surface.) Still hurts like crazy and my eye socket has started to swell up.

Don't be. Actually, I was just trying to help a friend carry some 50 Lb. flagstone pieces to their backyard. I had one piece under each arm and when I got to the back yard, I tripped on a raised piece of flagstone and went down hard ... hitting the stack of flagstones. The cut was pretty straight and easy to stitch - according to the doc.

This is why you shouldn't stick out your tongue when doing sports (even though MJ did it with great success).

Over the course of college I have driven three of my friends to the ER to get stitches after drinking accidents. I always had to bandage them up before hand also.
