Alright, here's the deal. I used to play a lot of tennis and basketball and because of that, my feet took a lot of abuse.
Eventually, some fungus decided to latch onto one of my big toes and there it has resided ever since. Now, the dam stuff is starting to reproduce itself on some of my other toenails.
I've done just about everything I can think of to get rid of the junk because I'm literally embarrased to walk around with sandals on. It's not REALLY bad, but its one of those things that bothers you...you know. Having yellowish, blackish nails is nasty.
I've tried several topical ointments...one called Tineacide that a pediatrist recommended I try. I tried that for a month or so and didn't notice any improvement. I asked him about the pills that you can take (you may have seen the commercials on TV), but he said they were kinda unsafe and can do some damage to your organs and stuff...which I don't want to do.
Now, I'm trying 100% pure tea tree oil which is the main ingredient in the Tineacide stuff and the junk still won't go away. It's totally under the nail and I've actually tried scraping it out at times (yeah, nasty huh), but that doesn't seem to do much either...
I wash my feet every day and dry them very thoroughly. I think the next step is to just have all my toes amputated. What do you think?
