Keep it. It's a write off for them. All these big companies, they write off everything.

Ok well lets look at it on the other person's foot then Mr. Smarty Pants. Lets say your selling something on hotdeals and mistaken send them two of something but they only paid for one. Would you let them keep it and just be out the money or would you want it back as long as you paid for shipping?

I bet you steal music from the Internet too!!!! You're a pathetic human being!! I can't believe anyone would steal computer parts like this. It's terrible that a person would do such a thing. (keep it don't send it back) That sickens me that anyone would ever even consider not returning items shipped to them that they didn't pay for. (no I'm serious...keep it) I hope you get what's coming to you!

This is a newegg equivelent, not an individual. If it were I would call and return. Please dismount the high horse.

Yet another troll added to my do not trade list

What difference does it make if it's a company vs an individual when it comes to doing what's right? Moron.

If you keep the box you have no right in the future to complain if someone takes advantage of your mistakes or steals from you.

That it's a company is irrelevant. A company is a group of individuals, all negatively impacted by your actions here. So instead of screwing over one person, now you've screwed dozens.

If the morality of theft were relative to wealth, as you seem to want it to be, then anyone poorer than you has moral justification in taking your property.

The right thing to do here is VERY easy to figure out: How would you want to be treated were the tables turned?

yeah, its a question of honesty here. i mean, someone fvcked up, so you gotta remember, if you keep that extra one, some other person at the company is getting the sh!t end of the stick and is either accused of stealing, or possibly being incompetent (which may or may not be the case, ppl make mistakes). personally i'd return it, not that it would be easy, i mean hey, free sh!t.

doubtful, it is a big company, for example, at our configuration center they have 1000's of dell desktops in the warehouse, they grew legs and disappear all the time. it sucks, but the cost probably gets passed down to the customers, no one gets fired at work over it.

next time you look at your bank statement with high fees, yep, that's the dell desktop you're buying for our bank.

He posted about it in a fscking public forum. I WAS minding my own business until he had to tell us all about his situation, and about his decision to be a low life thief while vainly attempting to justify it.

Do you think it's only laws that keep you and your property safe, and society relatively civilized?

:D

Seriously, though. Social pressure is every bit as important as laws when it comes to ethics, rights and morality. If peer pressure is enough to make good kids go bad, it can just as easily make bad kids go good or simply keep people from hurting others.

But if you did, wouldn't you want someone to return them to you?

You do not treat others as you expect them to treat you, but as you would like to be treated yourself.
