Bottom line, there's not a whole lot you can do. You fell for the hard sell (and don't feel bad, you're certainly not alone on that). Hopefully you still get the product you want.

Yeah, I have accepted that it was my screw up. Leason learned.

Holy Photo Crap!

Those Reseller Ratings Reviews are horrible. Too bad you didn't read them.

you could've declined the accessories.

you got stupid is what happened.

I know I could have declined, but the guy was sort of threatening me and he had all my info. If you look at what other people have written about them, you would see that they have told someone, "Why would you talk to me like that when I have all your info."

this really confused me... of course they have all your info. you bought a camera. what do you think they are gonna do with your info? how was he threatening you over the phone.

i am not really concerned about what other ppl wrote about them. i am wondering..

why did you buy stuff from somene who was threatening you?
how was he threatening you?
what would have happened had you declined the accessories?
why didnt you check out their references before you shopped with them.
why didnt you cancel the order over the phone when you felt threatened?

Well, when I originally said that I didnt want the extra stuff he yelled at me and told me that I shouldn't do that. I got angry and I told him to just cancel the entire order..and then he said that it was too late. He told me that he is going to have to charge me the 15% restocking fee if I still wanted to cancel. Rather than giving them "free" money i decided to have him ship it to me.

Anyone else notice that if you go to their website, the 'Contact Us' link gives you the HTTP 404 page?

This will be a grey market camera, granted you receive one in the first place. Meaning, NO WARRANTY.

what is 'grey market', please?

They import these cameras from places like HK, Philipines, etc. They are not suppose to be sold in US, yet not quite illegal. Hence "grey" market. Manufacturers will not honor warranty on such items.

Uh, wow, the guy threatened you...I'd say that's crossing the line from "good salemanship" to "illegal salesmanship"

You need to immediatly call your CC company & dispute the charges & I'd consider filing a police report regarding the verbal threats, not because it will get them in any real trouble, but because it will give you credability with the chargeback... in the mean time if any package arrive you should decline the delivery.

caveat emptor buddy, you pulled the trigger, deal with the restocking fee, or dont, its not the sales guys fault that you said yes, or caved under pressure

WEAK!!

Agreed, why cry to the CC company? You approved the charge. You are going to get what you asked for under the terms of the seller, you weren't scammed.

If he made the purchase, and the restocking fee and policies are clearly stated on thier site, he can't (shouldn't) dispute the charges. Even if he does, there's a pretty good chance the credit card company will find against him.

Disputing charges is for unauthorized use of your card, or if you are legitimately scammed. In this case, he wasn't scammed, he just made a mistake.

What do they have ?

all they have is your CC info. Big Whoop. You can always dispute charges if you see something suspicious.

You relaly should grow a pair.

No they had my address cell and work number. The last thing I wanted was to be harrased at work where it could have led to me getting fired.

Getting harrassed at work (which is a waste of time and money for a business outfit-even a shady one-to do) would result in YOU getting fired? How? Maybe if you harrass back...

Face it, you easily could have refused the accessories.

That's not necessarily true. For instance, you can buy grey market at a reputable place like B&H. I've bought canon grey market and Canon honors the warranty. I'm pretty sure these companies are not allowed to withhold warranty service based on a suspect seller. Some companies try but they are not supposed to.

As for the OP, I would just send the package back and dispute the charge with your CC Company. You should be fine.

You could suck it up as lessons learned?

Can you refuse delivery? I'd call the credit card company and see what they would normally do in this type of situation.
Dispute it with the credit card and refuse the shipment.
