I got ripped off by the bartender tonight. :|

Short story:

Went to a club. Ordered a $9 drink at the bar (I know, fvckin rippoff). Paid for it with a 20. Bartender comes back with change for a 10. WTF?! I tell her, look I gave you a $20. She says, no, you only gave me a $10. Fvcking b!tch. I know I didn't have any 10s in my wallet cause I just went to the ATM right before goin into the club. How the hell do I prove that that b!tch stole from me. Needless to say, I didn't leave any tip.

:|:|:|:|

EDIT: Still a little tipsy.

So you just took the f'ing, and let it go?
Sweet, I wish I had more suckers like you to ripoff.

Oh man that's ridiculous... I don't think I'd be able to handle loosing that much money... But atleast your still tipsy. That's always a good thing 🙂

What would you have done? Yelled until the bouncers threw you out?

I've never had that happened to me before... but our money are colour coded.

Where was this? And what were you drinking? $9 is an obscene amount for a drink.
I don't wanna say the name of the club, but its in Universal City Walk. I got a Mai Tai (sp?).

You got tipsy (and are still tipsy), over a single Mai Tai?

You guys react very violently. Mabey you should get that checked out.

You just continue to insist that you gave her a 20 dollar bill. There is no need to get angered immediatly, or start to shout at her. If you gave up after her first time telling you it was a 10 dollar bill, than you have no balls.

What your post says to me is.. "I went to a bar, gave her a twenty, she gave me change for a 10, I said something, she disagreed, so I backed down, went about my night, and then posted it here"
If its different, please, let me know. 🙂

9$ for a drink? That's kinda normal here 🙁 The most expensive drink I know costs 20$. It's a 5dl Long Island Ice Tea and it's actually pure alcohol(as in only hard-liqour)

And yet you avoided the question... what would you have done?

I think you've got the wrong misconception of what a Long Island Ice Tea is....

Moralpanic: I personally would have continued to insist that I gave her a 20 dollar bill. Definalty much more than just one mention of it. I have had this happen many times personally. After a few brief moments of discussion I would always get my money back.
If this is like the -first- time it ever happened to you, then it might be strange. This type of mishap happens in almost every market where physical money is exchanged hand to hand. If you don't speak up for yourself, no one ever will.
Now as a bartender, there isn't much benefit to upping your drawer 9 bucks. If she took the 20, changed it in the drawer, and then pocketed the change, or put it in the tip jar, then that would be malicious and evil.
Otherwise, if you're not going to stand up, then sit down please. Nothing personal.
