the ticket is issued in Hawthorne, CA

No front plate = no automated ticket in California.

True, but no front plate is cause for a ticket by itself in Kahleeforneeya...just not enforced much.

I got pulled over 3 times for no front plate. Finally got a ticket for it a couple months ago. Stupid bastards. They're doing it just for these cameras according to them.

In San Diego they actually ruled them illegal. They might be legal now for all I know but back a few years ago they found that the company making the cameras was getting a cut from the fines and was shortening the light times so that more people were getting tickets.

They're in the process of installing or about to install cameras in my city right now.

Last ticket I got, about 2-3 years ago, was $130 I think, plus court costs.

In California they put up those redlight camera signs on almost every intersection, regardless of whether there is a camera there or not. No clue why.....

QFT, its a fine only and cant go on your record due to the fact that they dont know who was driving. Atleast thats how it is here in Canada

UM, When you pay the ticket you are admitting (convicted) it is you in CA, and it goes on your record. Wait until your next Insurance renewal. :brokenheart:🙂 Probably like that in most other parts of the USA too. If you can prove that it was not you then you don?t need to pay it because it was not you driving the car. The person who was driving it will need to pay.

And don?t even try the, ?I let someone use my car but I don?t remember who route.?
You will not win.

If you can do traffic school do it. That makes it so you where cited but never convicted. So it will never even be on your record.

Yeah, that is really difficult to figure out.

Go to court. (if you have the time) Do not pay the fine by mail. You will be able to get a reduced fine this way. Then go to traffic school.

is there any way to capture video that is in flash? that's how they have it on the site, I'll show it to you guys if there's a way to do that.

I had a red light camera go off on me when as I was crossing the intersection when the light was green. I never got anyhting in the mail though.

They used to have those at the lights on both ends of my block so I couldn't drive anywhere without risking getting caught late for a yellow light.

My asinine city council got caught with thier pants down after a lawsuit to enforce a state law that requires 80% of the revenues collected to go to the local school district. My city set up the lights with a private company that keeps 70% of the revenues. They ultimately had to pay out about $800,000 to the school district, then they turned off the cameras. I was considering sniping out, or painting over the cameras until they turned them off.

IMHO the lights are an underhanded entrapment scheme. They only catch you if you run the light immediately after it turns red. If you run the light 2 seconds later they dont catch you. Or if you stop at the red and knowingly and intentionally run the light they won't catch you. They only punish people for unintentional errors, not flagrant violations. People misjudging the yellow light length is more common than blowing the light on purpose. It gets sold to the public as a safety measure, but its really just another revenue stream for the local govt. I think the units in your area are more sophisticated than the ones they had here.

I got nabbed twice for not flooring the pedal for the yellow light at $50 a pop. They got MsColin 3 times.

I've heard that having CDs in your back window can cause enough glare to make your plate number indiscernable.

I think if you view the page source and find the name of the Flash file you can save it to somewhere else. Not sure though.

That's not how it works here. It doesn't matter who was driving, the registered owner of the car is responsible for the ticket (in camera cases).

There is a firefox extension to grab videos from flash sites

<a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/2390/"><a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/2390/">https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/2390/</a></a>

I heard if there is no courthouse on the ticket, they legally can't collect on the ticket. You send it back, pay the fine, you admit guilt. But that is what I heard.

The more I read this website, the more I learn about how to delay your fine. Neat fake tickets they call them Fake for Hawthrone

I got one of those fun letters with photos showing me at a red light. Not only that, they have a website where you can see the video. Sure enough, there I am slowing down but not stopping before making a right on red. Oh well.

$351, ow. I guess I know where my poker winnings will be going for the next few weeks.

I'll do some research to see if traffic school will keep points off my driving record.

YOU were born to be PWNED. GET used to IT!

With your luck, you should try that spray paint mentioned earlier.

I was up in Buckhead one night a few months ago.. I swear, one intersection was like a freaking disco everytime the light turned red. Each side popped 5-6 shots EVERY time.

You talk about Buckhead like it's a well known place. Is it?

There's a light by my work that is green for about a second or two. Luckily there's no camera there. When I was in college we had an intersection right by the university that had the same problem but there was a camera. Total gimick. Someone got a ticket every light.

No front plate is only a $25 ticket.

Pretty much anyone who has been to Atlanta has heard of Buckhead.
