I got one of those fun letters with photos showing me at a red light. Not only that, they have a website where you can see the video. Sure enough, there I am slowing down but not stopping before making a right on red. Oh well.

$351, ow. I guess I know where my poker winnings will be going for the next few weeks.

I'll do some research to see if traffic school will keep points off my driving record.
 
More and more of these posts are popping up in ATOT. Looks like those things are a real problem...luckily they don't have em where I live...yet...
 
I don't think points can be given due to the fact that there is no proof that it was YOU driving. Just pay the fine and be on your way.

True, but no front plate is cause for a ticket by itself in Kahleeforneeya...just not enforced much.

QFT, its a fine only and cant go on your record due to the fact that they dont know who was driving. Atleast thats how it is here in Canada

 
I wish they had cameras out in my area. I am so sick of people running red lights.....even in their company vehicles. There are not many cops out here, so people pretty much do what they want...regardless of how stupid or dangerous it is.
 
351 is awful steep for a red light fine...that's ****** ridiculous. I wouldn't even pay that much if I was ticketed for excessive speeding, and I'm in CA too.

I concur, they can only fine the registerd owner of the vehicle, they cannot prove who was driving it. Trust me, I know! 😱

The MINIMUM for a red-light violation is now $271. Many areas have jacked it up quite a bit, depending on the severity of the local problem.

Not sure IF the sprays really work or not. I know there are plastic plate covers you can get to go over yourplate, that supposedly work pretty well, but, of course, they are illegal in Kahleeforneeya...as are the ones that block the lazers. I'm actually surprised they haven't made radar detectors illegal here. Several states have, and they even have radar detector detectors...
 
We have a lot of people that go through red lights at some of the main intersections here.....everybody does it and nobody seems to care. It's strange.

$351 for a red light camera ticket? Maybe..

But $351 for a ticket if a cop sees someone running a red light? Hell, that's not steep enough. They should be pulled out and beaten with a club. :|
