i was at frys today helping my dad with some stuff, and decided to browse by the graphics cards... and there she was. About a stack of 15+ BFG RETAIL 6800gt brand new. I almost cried when i saw them.

Anyways, she's in my pc right now and before i install drivers i was wondering which ones i should use?

Thanks guys =)

ty cawchy... yes im VERY imatiently waiting for the omegas to download =(

I cant wait to get all my games installed and bench them =)

guess i'll have to try 3dmark too 😉

screw 3dmark03 and benchmarks, first thing i do when i get a new card is do what i bought it for... play games! enjoy it!

well i wanna see what it can do on my games =)

I'm coming from a GF2 so this is pretty sweet 😀

ohhhh i love silicon

its so beautiful!!

I'm tempted to reinstall windows.... just so i can make sure i have everything wiped clean.

Not sure if its running exactly how it should (about 11k in 03). It chopped a bit in farcry in certain spots and had a glitch. The glitch was something wrong with the ground... it was black in certain areas, and then it moved with me... really weird.

I really havnt had a chance to "play" yet =)

Yes I had these problems too. The drivers it came with are likely beta's. Get the 61.72 WHQL drivers. They are either on bfgtech.com or you can use evga.com's site to download the WHQL drivers.

is downloading the drivers directly from nvidia a bad idea? I'm picking up a 6800 soon myself.

They are still using 56.72 drivers on Nvidia's site.

ahhh ok. I was wondering for a second if the manufacturers of cards with nvidia gpus made changes to the drivers to fit their cards better or something.

Update, Frys #2 aka Burbank Frys. I arrived no more than 10min after opening and boooya 6800GT OC is now mine!!!. I got the one of two that hadn't been bought and returned already.

yea 399... ITS SO PRETTY!

Are the 6x.xx drivers easy to install? I was having trouble with the ones off of nV's website, where u have to do the whole update driver/have disk thing... either im a newb or it really is a pain in the butt =|

Ah yes, the infamous fry curse as me and my buddies like to call it.. I got mine at the Industry frys last week and they still had like 4 of them + 1 cursed one.

As soon as these can be had for 250~275 I'm making the switch from ATi back to Nvidia. Best bang for the buck for sure.
