I don't know, but if you go to the MSI website and check the specs on the board you will find out.

Who would know better than MSI?

i've got that board, and it is DDR (KT266a chipset). right now 256MB PC2100 DDR SDRAM is going for around $50.

In the last 2 months it has doubled...

I beleive there are a few boards that offer best of both worlds...sd-ram for now and ddr for the future...

ECS K7S5a for one, but I believe there are others just ask in the mobo forum...

Also what fsb of your tbird as that may effect whether you actually need the pc1600 or the pc2100?

< right now 256MB PC2100 DDR SDRAM is going for around $50. >

Actually since you seem to be pulling the lowest price off of like pricewatch it is 52.00 before any shipping and the lowest on pricewatch usually stick it to you with 8-10 s&h...This is generic ram and may be, and I am saying maybe an issue with some of the more picky mobos...Also don't plan on much fsb ocing as this ram may not take it...

Good ddr-ram like crucial is going like 79.00 shipped for free
