I got my Klipsch promedia's !! Woohoo !!! 😉

Ok.. now... they are GREAT and 3D sound is strangely MUCH MUCH better with the Sb live ! 🙂 LOL hehe

Hummmm.... one thing... there is 0 power button ... The only way to shut it down is to unplug the sub right ? crap ! And also.. any way to remove the hiss sound from the back speakers ?

But except these little things, they ARE GREAT !!!

The hiss could be caused from a line-in not being muted. Be sure to must all the channels you aren't using.

Klipsch offers a new pre-amp and control pod upgrade for $50.00 on their site. It will add more mids, a headphone jack, and a power button to the pod on the one speaker 🙂.

I love mine... be sure to put your sub in a corner if you can. The bass reflects very nice withh my corner desk setup I have. 😀

I love mine 😀 Make sure and mute or lower the volume on cd audio because it will make a hissing sound if you dont do that. Also you could get a UPS and just turn that off which would turn the speakers off.

the hissing sound is normal. even if you unplug it from your computer, and still have it on, the hissing sound will still be there. Don't know what the deal is......

I sent my ProMedias back and got the new preamp FREE. As long you are still in warranty you only have to pay shipping to send it to em... Ask in customer service under ProMedias on their site. I love my sound system now that the hissing is gone for good.

its a digital amp, so no need for power button😛 Its on when there's a signal and off when there isn't. Anyhow, as others have said make sure that line in and other useless inputs are muted, lots of noise from those. set your windows main volume to 70-80%, your wav out to 90-100%, control the volume using the speaker knob. Personally i use my logitech inet keyboard to control volume🙂

there shouldn't be much of a hiss from your rears.

the hiss should not be noticible before the 12:00 setting, most people reccommend keeping the software volumne at 50%. Klipsch as great tech support, make sure you have the new Preamp which reduces the hissing problem to some degree as well as the ripping when turning up or down the volume (happens later on, after they receive some wear).

the speakers go into a stand-by mode when not in use so you don't have to worry about a power button and turning them off, they use very minimal power at that point.

I also just picked up the Promedia's around a week ago. I love these things. They rock with my SB Live! in gaming, dvd, and music. This speaker system is definitely worth $249.99!

Do these speaker support the digital port on a sound blaster live 5.1 video card. Or do use the analog ports?

How do movies sound without 5.1????

Thankyou
Jason

i want to clarify something.

the new CP1 preamp does MINIMAL, IF AT ALL soundwise for the klipschs. all they do is add a headphone jack, and fix the static problem w/ the volume knob (it was prone to dust).

if you sent your preamp in, you well get a new one back.. BUT NOT THE NEW CP1.. unless you somehow managed that...

klipsch is coming out w/ a new set w/ new crossovers, THIS one will have the mids fixed (should anyway). Not sure if it's coming w/ the new CP1 preamps and if it will cost more or not.

How do the MidiLand S4-8200's compare with the Klipsch speakers? I recently got the 8200's because I needed the 5.1 digital surround sound since I use these for DVD's also. The Klipsch seemed to be more powerful and possibly better sound quality, though.

*Sorry, messed up on link below this, forgot to enter text.

tjll11a,

They are great for dvds because of the insane power🙂 Explosions in movies rock the room hehe. Anyhow, just run dvds using intervideo windvd 2000 2.3. It downmixes the center channel into the two front speakers. No need for a center speaker on a pc setup because your front speakers aren't far enough apart from each other to justify it. Powerdvd also does downmixing, but it doesn't decode the subwoofer channel, so not as good.

chris,

Not a chance, promedia's have a dual 6.5" woofer sub and 400 watts, the midilands are not in the same class.

I love mine as well and really haven't noticed a hissing problem. I just turn the volume down when I'm not using them.

Hehe !!! Great to hear from you guys ! 🙂

Well, I got them via e*ay and ship across the border ! 🙂

NOW I know how not to pay taxes !!! blehehe 😉
1. Ask the person to sell it as a gift...
2. Make sure they write a low number in the value part.

But it won't work all the time... ;(

Hehe ! I LOVE them !!!
But its true... the mids could be a bit better and/or higher.
