I got my car (mazda 3)!!!

As some of you know, I've been looking at (and drooling over) the Mazda 3 for a while now. Well last weekend I finally bought it! Got a red hatch with auto and ABS. Go ahead and bash me for getting the auto, but this tiptronic is sweet! The car is pretty quick, even with the auto. I originally wanted the strato blue, but they only had 1 sedan in that color and after looking at it in person it looked too purpley. Didn't look at all like the pics I've seen. I didn't want silver, white or black because those are too boring and common, so it was between the red and the yellow.

All the number's I've come across show the 6 has similar power to the turbo 4. Any info on that?

You are correct.

In fact, the 6 has 5 fewer HP, but has more torque. I prefer the 6 as I am not a fan of turbos. The 6-speed MT is nice too.

And GT, I understand your sentiment. I like the turbo since its easier to get more power out of it. 6 speed would be nice tho🙂 The way things are looking tho I doubt I'll be getting one next spring.

It just depends on when I can test drive them both and what the final pricing will be. Subaru reps at the ATL Autoshow said the 2.5GT should sell for under $25K. I would expect the Spec B to sell around $28K. Will the Spec B be $10K better than a loaded Mazda 3? We'll see...

It should be. I mean, it'll have about 100 more hp. Its like comparing an Accord to a Civic IMHO.

The Mazda 3 doesnt have a ton of power, but 160hp 150 torque can pull it along. Most the 0-60 numbers Ive seen are 7.4-7.9 seconds for the manual. Not bad for a compact car < 20k.

When looking for cargo space + fun to drive it beats the competitors 🙂
