I got my Abit KT7. Do you think the intel heat sink will cool enough?

I got my Abit KT7 motherboard today. I bent the clip on the intel heatsink that came with my Celeron 566, so that it would fit the duron 600 without crushing it. Do you think that I could use it for now! (at 600mhz) and it will be safe so it doesn't over heat? I have no thermal paste or anything! Would it be safe to just go into the bois and underclock it to say 400? I just can't wait for my Alpha Pal to come in hehe.

I made sure that the heat sink was flat on the core buy putting it up to a neon light.

What I could also do Is leave it out of the case just on the removable tray and Get a 120volt fan blowing right on the heat sink. You think that would be enough?

Minimum you can do is 500.
I'd recommend that until you get the Pal.
does the heatsink have the thermal pad on the bottom?
I beleive they should...

Yeah it had a thermal pad on it but I wiped it off when I sold my celeron cus it was just like a little scare of paste.

I took my chances and turned it on anyways and WOW! This thing is F**king fast. I underclocked it to 500 just so it wouldn't overheat and I put a 80mm fan right over the cpu!

I can't wait till I get my pal and overclock it to 1000 WOW!!
