it's not that great but it beats the |-|ell out of my old computer. Anyway this thing has what essentially amount to an induction hood attatched to a fan to cool the cpu. Maybe i should stick a turbocharger in there to boost cooling power; have it come on during heavy cpu usage instead of high rpm)🙂 The first time i opened the case(about 15 minutes out of the box) i looked in and could figure out what it was til i popped it off. does any other company else use this, does it have some advantage? disadvantage?

P3-866mHz
128mb SDRAM @ 133mHz
17 inch Trinitron monitor <---- what do those little wires do?
32MB NVIDIA TNT2 M64 AGP
Maxtor 20GB Ultra ATA HD
Windows Me (still working on a linux dualboot)
LG 8x/4x/32x CD-RW <---- yes I know it sucks
Soundblaster 64V PCI

Nice except for the video.

nothing wrong with the CDRW btw. 8x is fine, LG makes decent stuff..

Not from what i here, although my single source research isn't too reliable (he can't even diagnose a fan acting up; for an explaination pm MWink and besure to make fun of him) I know the video isn't great but it is better than my old 2d card, certainly a lot faster.

Moose,
I think that what you are talking about comes on some "fong kia" cases.
not sure of spelling. Also some HPs had them also.

if this is a scoop that sits over cpu and directs air out the back??

do a search for fong kia under case reviews

The little wires are just a thing about the trinitron style of monitors. I think they're called shadow lines.

You have two of them right? About one third up from the bottom, and then about 1/3 from the top of the screen?

Just have to put up with them. It's a small sacrifice for the superb image quality of the trinitron displays.

My friend has an HP that I believe has something similar to what you are describing, I think it is to suppress noise.

Mister: yea that's what it is.

Vi_edit:they don't really bother me i just wondered what they were

I don't think i can do the turbocharger idea, i think it'd be too expensive.

Moose🙂
