Civil Engineering.

Reason: Lack of work 🙁 most of the guys in our main office didn't have enough work to keep them busy so they had to layoff all the new guys in our branch office. I'm one of them. 🙁
 
what is the max unemployment you can get a week in Cali? just wondering...

Join the club dude. I was supposed to be working till at least the end of this month if not longer and exactly 1 week before Labor Day me and the rest of the team were cut. They were kind enough to wait until I finished my shift to tell me that the job was shut down....joy. "Oh by the way, don't bother coming in tomorrow 'cause there's no more work"....idiots.

Sorry to hear about the loss, but you'll bounce back. Get your butt on unemployment and try and enjoy your time off. I know that's what I'm doing. Since I never have time to do anything while I'm working I'm going to make the most of this lag between jobs.

What didn't you like, was it the work, or just the company you worked for?

I'm thinking about getting into that line of work. I've got another year and a half of community college before I can start a university, but I've always been interested in it. (Community college, that's what I get to go through for only having a high school GED and slacking for 10 years). I'm thinking about getting in on a road, bridge, or light-rail construction crew this summer so I can get some relevant experience in the field.

What was the engineering work like that you did?
 
I know how you feel, chin up though.

I got laid off of a job i was at for 3.5 years. and in 1.5 months I have a new job, been here for 4 months now.

Not so bad.
 
chin up and landed 4 offers 🙂 I'll be employ in 1.5 weeks. Although I hate the thoughts of being a noob on the job but atleast I've a job.

to those looking for a job, I strongly advice you to send out as many resume as possible. There aint no jobs looking around for people nowadays but instead you got to try your best in finding a job that might give you a chance of employment. good luck to everyone, If you've got questions regarding interviews msg me and I'll try my best to give you some tips.
