I got into a car accident on my BIRTHDAY!

Check this ok. The guy was already waiting for the light. So I pull up behind up cause I can't stand horizontal that would obstruct traffic coming my way. So I turn around behind him. I stay behind him. There was no one in front of him. Next thing you know, the guy backs up RIGHT into me. The fender bender messed up my hood and my bumper on my 94' Integra. I then called 911 on my Verizon Wireless phone and tried to get the cops to come. THEN, out of nowhere they denied my request cause it happened on private property. So the operator told me to exchange information and let the insurance company handle if from there. So now I gotta make a police report tomorrow just in case. I still should have called the police anyways. But I've talked to a lot of people and they said the same thing. Cops won't come on private property.

I know cops will come out even if the wreck is on private property in Alabama.

I got in a wreck with my brother's ex-fiancee in my mom's driveway once and the cops came out and made a police report.

Maybe it's a state thing.

perhaps he didn't put it in reverse, but just doesn't know how to start the vehicle moving and not letting it fall behind when driving a manual?

The road couldn't be more flatter. It was not on an incline. Oh yeah..this happened in San Lorenzo, CA. This is not an official city and does not have it's own police department. The sheriff and highway patrol normally handles everything.

The laws differs city to city and county to county. My friend had a wreck on private property in Fulton County, GA. The cops said oh well we will not come to private property and fill out a report. On the other hand in Birmingham my brother was hit in a parking lot(private) and the cops came and made a report.

reminds me of my birthday some 5 years ago. I was going to the place where I used to go to study with my friends. Since it was my birthday, I decided to take a cab, instead of bus. So, I was negotiating with a cab driver on how much he would take to ride me to that place (you can do that where I come from), and all of a sudden this car came from nowhere and hit me, I fell down on the ground, but it wasnt that severe hit, so I quickly got up and moved away from other traffic, but I couldn't think anything for next 10 mins. I was lucky enough to find another cab and I reach my desitnation. Rest of the day was good, as the hottest chicks in my class sung happy birthday for me and all that stuff

San Lorenzo??? I'm in Hayward..... Where abouts do you live?? I'm over by Arroyo a lot since my friend lives right near there. But anyways, I got into an accident about 6 months ago and the cops wouldn't come out and make a report unless someone is hurt in the accident. They told us to just exchange info and let the insurance company decide what happens. I even tried to make a report the next day and they said I didn't need to. I thought it was pretty weird. I'd be surprised if they made a report for you since it was just a fender bender.

It happened at Taco Bell on Hesperian. I still don't know why he would back up toward me. So what happened with your accident?

I was going through an interesection on Jackson in Hayward over by McDonalds and this lady was making a left. She didn't yield as I was driving straight and she nailed me right on the side of my driver's door. My car was totalled :frown: . She was driving a p.o.s 89 Escort...mine was an 89 Stang. Damn people don't know how to drive in the east bay.

Hey I know where that is. I grew up in San Leandro and moved to Union City, now I'm up in Davis most of the time.

Make sure you fill out a police report. Would've been nice if you were able to get a witness. Next time instead of dialing 911 just get the operator to transfer you to the police dept.

And yes, damn East Bay drivers are getting worse. Damn ricers can't drive worth dick.
