I got caught staring at a workmate..

I was walking in the parking lot and saw this nice new sports coupe. I was starring at it as I walked by waiting to the see the model, so my head was turning and looking back at it.

Then I see motion behind it. A manager from HR was a few cars back waiving, so I waived back.

Then it hit me, with my sunglasses on, it looked like I was staring at her for a longggg time, despite the fact I never saw her until she waived. Now the HR lady thinks I was checking her out and she is kind of pretty.

Should I tell her the story?

That's what I'm afraid of. She was like three spots away, it was not her car. I'm married and have zero interest in her. I just don't want a rep as some stalker.

The car was some 350Z looking Lexus I think. It was small and black.

If she was 3 spots away, your head shouldn't have been turned enough in her direction to make her think you were staring at her, even with sunglasses. She probably just wanted to say hi.

Next time you see her just say "Nice car." I doubt she has that car to not be noticed, so it's a win no matter what. You noticed, but can't be slapped with a sexual harrassment claim.
