$349 at costco with extra controller and some other accessory crap. it's the 20gb. I had store credit so that's one thing to spend it on since I don't really buy anything else there.

I would have gotten a ps3 but they didn't have any for like 2 months they said.

What's the cheapest way to play games? gamefly? blockbuster?

I would like to thank mugs for constantly drilling in the return policy. I only hope they don't give me problems or hassles if I have rrod in six months.

I usually stock up when Gamestop has their buy 2 get 1 free sales. There's so many great used games on the 360 that are really cheap because they've been out for a while. Start by downloading demos. Battlestations: Midway is one of my favorite 360 games; check out the demo. The only problem I have with Gamefly and Blockbuster is that new games are hard to get.

They won't.

Cheapest way to play games? Find deals on used games or clearance games. Target & Wal-Mart have decent to good clearance deals depending on the individual store.

I rent games at Blockbuster right now but that's only because I use "my coke rewards" to get free game rental coupons.

Gamefly is an option if you play games heavily. I couldn't justify the cost after a couple of months.

I'm not particularly interested in renting games, but your post got censored, so I now must know what the *s are.

yeah I always buy the 2 get 1 free sales. But I'm not really looking to make a 360 collection yet. I don't know what to do with my 150 game gamecube collection.

as for the latest games, doesn't really matter, I have many things to catch up on. I was going to start with the basics, like, halo3, crackdown, hulk (I don't care if it's mediocre), cod4, doa4, bioshock and others which caught my eye along the way. gtaIV of course, I have to go to gamerankings/trailers and see what looks tasty.

the main ones I'm waiting for would have to be sf4 and re5. But maybe I'll also have a ps3 by the time they come out so whichever system gets the praise I'll go for.

mugs, do you have a ps3?

Other way around. Xbox 360 has no built-in wifi.

hope I made a good choice going with the 360 first. Even if the system dies in 2 years, that would mean there are about 5 years of games to catch up on and even if there are 50 good games to play I'd be happy with the console's lifespan.

I bought an 80GB PS3 (MGS4) and it sucks that the good games are coming out for the 360. What in the world happened to Sony? There's more games coming out for the PS2..

Yes you did. In reality there's enough great games that are on both systems to last a while even on the PS3, but as far as exclusives go that the PS3 doesn't have I like:
-Gears of War (2 will be out soonish)
-Halo 3 (if that's your bag)
-Mass Effect (but now on PC)

PS3 has MGS4

what do you guys think of gamesnflicks.com<sp>?

If I do the 8.99/mo for one game, how long does it take to send and get a new game? 1 week? Maybe I should do the 12.99 for two games so I can play one while the other is in transit, that would mean I always have a new game every week...?

Well they also have God of War III and Gran Turismo 5 on the horizon as well as that Fat Princess game (PSN game but still looks fun as hell), Warhawk, Killzone 2, Resistance, Ratchet & Clank and others.

It's not like the PS3 is devoid of good titles, in fact, I think the PS3's library is a little better than the Wii's which only really has like 5-10 good games (depending on your tastes and most of them are usual Nintendo franchises) + some awesome party games.

Software wise, I think the Wii is losing this generation, it's selling like crap (in the good sense) but that's just because it appeals to non-gamers, as far as killer apps go, I think the 360 and PS3 have the Wii undermined.

Heh. That's a pretty long horizon. Polyphonics admitted they aren't even working on GT5 right now and not to expect it until 2010. God of War III was shown only in a CGI trailer at E3. I wouldn't expect that until 2010 or later either.

Why is it that people defending the PS3 inevitably respond to a list of excellent 360 games out now with a list of PS3 games that _don't even have release dates_?

I hate to hijack, but WTF? 45 pairs?? Isn't that a little overkill?

really?! THey got 5 stars on some shady review site...

who should I go with, gameflys is crazy with the prices. If I did the 1 game, how long does it take to ship to and from? What about games which are rented out, do I pay my membership while I wait for a game to be sent to me?

should I try the gamesnflicks free trial?
