I was given an award for some additional web work I did for another department. They were so happy with the website and my recent upgrades that they gave me an award.

Now I have to decide which gift to get.

At my job the security officer just came by and said, "They really need to find something productive for y'all to do. Surfing the net for nine months gets real boring, trust me. Don't worry, though, the check'll still come on Friday."

/sigh

Still waiting for security clearance to be processed.

The company I work for officially discontinued recognition for anything 3 years ago. No employee of the month, etc....

I think it's BS I don't get $#!T like that because my manager is virtually invisible. That was the entire problem... I have a new manager now (3 hours away, but he'll still probably do a better job).

I've been here for 3 years and I've helped countless other people/customers with small web apps and even automated some things that make their life easier. :|

I see other people in other depts get rewarded but do I have anything to show for my work? Just my regular salary. :| I don't care if it doesn't involve money, just give me a damn piece of paper that says you appreciate my help. Show me you know I exist. Sometimes I just want to look for other work, but it sux out there.

Sorry but this stuff just makes my blood boil.

Dude, that sucks. Talk to your manager, and if he ignores you then talk to the person above him and ask for a raise or whatever. Even if you don't get one you can still let them know about the effort you've put into the company.

I am a contract employee current on assignment to Ford Motor Company, working within the Ford Customer Service Division.
