I just realized that since I installed my router yesterday D-Link DI-604 that I can't send e-mail. My normal e-mail is Netscape Messenger and I just tried sending through Mozilla and still won't go.

Is the router the problem? I still receive mail but can't send.

I'm using Adelphia Cable. Thanks

I wouldn't think that would be a problem with the router. Can you upload anything to the internet or is this just email specific.

um, I had the same problem, and this worked for me. enter in the IP address of the mail server instead of the words. After I did that I had no problems, but it seemed like a kinda of weird fix.

I can do anything except send mail now. Last e-mail sent was 1:45pm tuesday. 5 min before I installed the router :)

It's so weird. Adelphia's mail server is "mail" thats it.

I had this happen to me when I setup my router. Workaround was to use the FQDN for your ISP's email server (pop3.xxx.com)
If in doubt of this address, contact your ISP.

Updated firmware nothing changed so called Adelphia and they have an SMTP that lets it get by the router

works like a charm.
