I have been flipping burgers for close to a year now, but out of nowhere came this opportunity with a local publication, they have been trying to move away from windows and towards linux, and they also just need someone to generally take care of the network, webdev, converting spreadsheets to db's and building web interfaces for them, etc, all kinds of cool sheit :D

So I'm a mini-admin/mini network admin/developer/general computer hackery specialist now, go me :D

I think this will really help out as far as getting jobs or internships while I'm in college, and also getting a job after college. BTW, I'm 19 :)

Anyways, just thought I'd vent some of my excitement here, carry on ;)

I'm guessing the restaurant you work at is a bit nicer than the "restaurant" I worked at ;)

Actually, the McDonald's that I worked at had very strict hand washing policies. Hand washing, not general cleanliness. Like I said in another thread, I worked making food in the back area for 18 hours while puking into a garbage can every 5 minutes.

The McDonald's that I worked at briefly here in Indiana (before going full time at this job), was different. It was much more sanitary.

I have had a cold recently, and my McD didn't really care at all. I didn't call in because I just don't like to, and they had no qualms with me making food. :disgust:

The rule is that you're supposed to wash your hands once an hour and as needed. Everyone is good about it though, so there's really no problem. Personally I and most other people in grill washed our hands at least a couple times an hour, just to get the pickle juice / grease / etc off of them. For the most part it was a clean store, but as with any restaurant....sh!t happens sometimes ;) :Q

Well...next time someone asks for a new web page, be sure to suppress the urge to say, "Would you like fries with that?"

Congrats on the new job!! :D
