Why is it that every single cat owner thinks they have some ultra-mega-rare-strain of cat? You don't have a super ultra mega rare whatever_the_hell_feline_DNA_strand you think you have.

NEWSFLASH: You_have_A_CAT. Nothing special about it.

And has already been stated; it will attempt to murder you in your sleep, piss in your shoes, tear up your furniture (we know it's all from Ikea, but still...), claw your drapes, destroy your venetian blinds AND shit behind every piece of furniture in your small apartment.

So...why'd you get a damn cat, again? Is it that whole "No girlfriend thing?" Hey, your therapist told you that b/t the meds and your sessions, you'd be fine in a couple of years. Why rush things?

/waiting for OP's "Humane way to lose this cat?" thread

There was only two of these cats left in the late 60's. Yeah, that's rare. I'm a married guy, rum dum.

I think you need to keep your crazy in P&N. This too is Obama's fault, right?... right?

Cute kitten.

Spend some time.....OK, spend lots of time training and you'll have very few problems. The only thing our 4 kittens are problematic with is speaker grilles. Removed them and that was semi-solved. Darned things like the scratching post effect the floorstanders' grilles give.

Have yet to have our furniture decimated, although they tried early on. They don't any more at all.

Get her spayed as soon as you can. Will save you grief later on.

I used to be a dog fan, but from a pure time investment/maintenance perspective, I'm moving closer to being a cat fan. Our cat lays around and ignores us all day long. The only time we even remember we have her is when we are trying to go to sleep and she jumps on top of us and starts purring and prodding.

Dogs are up your ass constantly.

Or you could try a naked kitty...

I've heard naked kitties are worse for allergies. It's a protein on the skin that causes the problems, so there's no fur to trap the proteins in place, and they become more free roaming.

Interesting i did not know that. Automatically i assumed that it is the fur since shedding hairs happens so often.

Congrats on the new kitty, she's adorable.

From my experience, allergies to cats are generally due to proteins in their saliva that get on the fur when they wash themselves, and then is shed as dander.

Cute cat. The ear tufts and bushy tail reminds me of my Main Coons.

Bad luck 24/7/365! Cute as hell though.

Get a white cat to balance out the zen.

Thanks for getting a black pet.
Just read an article about how more black dogs and cats are euthanized because they are unwanted or not considered when adopting a new pet.
Very sad.

Oh man those are great for buffing wooden floors. Just grab paws and buff away!

Yes I've tried this. I like mine with extra fluff.

Dogs will fuck up your furniture as much as a cat would. And they do come in different breeds, shapes and sizes. kudos to the op for taking in a cat, and you sound like a total jack ass

OMG, I had a cat I named Bill long ago, *AKA Bill the Cat* many years ago and he lived to be 18.

Anyone that got near him loved that cat.

I miss that guy, he looked exactly like that, he had personality +++++

I got him when he was a kitten, probably younger than he should have been adopted, he looked like a black tribble.

I think he was a Norwegian Forest Cat mutt, but he was my best bud a long time and looked exactly like that when he was young.

Have a couple 16 lb guys these days hanging out eating cat food :p
