I got a job offer!!

so i finally landed a job after quite a while of unemployment...i've accepted the one that suits me best...😀

the other offer came later on, contingent upon getting along via phone interview with one more person...so i'm gonna call him back tomorrow and ideally would wanna make a good impression so i'd have a backup in case the first job i accepted doesn't work out...

do i tell this person up front before we have our conversation that i've accepted another offer already?...
or tell him afterwards?...

what other possible ways can i go about this?
 
do not tell the guy you already accepted somewhere else. just use that fact to wring as much money out of company 2 as possible, and take whichever one you like best.

i'm not looking for any more money...job 1 suited me best in regards to location, worklife, etc...better than job 2...but i'd like to have a good reputation with job 2 in case i end up leaving job 1 somewhere down the road...

Just say you have an offer on the table from another company. That's not unusual for managers to hear, and they'll know you're looking to see what they can offer in comparison.

Just say you have an offer on the table from another company. That's not unusual for managers to hear, and they'll know you're looking to see what they can offer in comparison.

no matter what he (job 2) offers, i'm gonna stick with job 1 since their work environment caters more to my needs and desires...

so i'll tell him that i have another offer on the table from job 1, but do i tell him that i've accepted that offer?...
 
so i just talked to job 2...told him that i appreciate his calling me up to speak over the phone...then he asked me if i was still interested...which lead to:

"i'm glad you asked that, i recently received and accepted an offer which i felt was the best fit to suit my needs and interests"

to which he wished me the best of luck and gave me his cell # and said to call him up if anything changes and job 1 doesn't work out...

less than a 5 minute phonecall...

Congrats.

I wouldn't have told him that I had accepted offer #1 though. Just that you had an offer, even though you weren't going to change your mind.

If you called me for a job on Thanksgiving I'd sure as hell put your resume at the bottom of my list.
dont disturb the person on a holiday unless they speciffically asked you to call.
