I got a check from the United States Treasury

And I have no idea what it is, no explanation, nothing on the check telling me what it is for. The check is for $644.75.

Wonder how long, if ever, it will take to find out what it is.

Do you remember working for the feds?

Did you file for child support and get the ex's wages garnished? Did the ex find a job recently so there be wages to garnish?

Can you work for the feds without remembering it?

No child support involved (ex is still a louse).

Of course. If you spend it, they can't change their minds and take it back.

Yes, they actually can. Our government is so efficient that you will receive a letter explaining what the check was for in a week or so. That is what happened last time I got a check from the government out of thin air.

You're a princess. The check is your tiara subsidy. It's part of the Republican outreach for the rich.

This is what I am thinking. Years ago I once got a big check out of the blue as well, almost ripped it up thinking it was one of those annoying mortgage sign up junk mails.

Now we know why the deficit is so high. People like you cashing checks instead of ripping them up as junk mail offers:hmm:

When I filed taxes something was on there about getting a check around that amount from the govt and if you didn't get it then you get it on your tax return or something like that...
