heh I remember an EM class I took many years ago and the first test. The teacher (his first ever EM test) made it a wee bit too hard.

Average was like 25. Five people got zeros. I got like a 45 and it was a solid "B" grade. A 10 (out of 100) was considered a D. The high was like a 66 by some straight A nerd.

I don't know if could continue my style of teaching if 40% was setting the curve in a class of mine. If I was a teacher that is...

Ask Purdery for some help on physics
He's  on it :D
In fact I need some help right now
I dont understand this atwood's machine thing... :|

Somethin about how im supposed to tell if this is true or false
"All strings can do is trasmit froces from other objects. htat meanst hat the string in the Atwood's
machine just transmits the weight of one block to the other"

Yea... good luck fatty on your next tests

I ended up passing my Physics 150 class with roughly a 40% average.

I was glad that I only had to take one physics class. :)

I got a 47 on my Formal Languages and Methods class... was surprised to find out that a 60 was an A :Q...for a week I thought I was the dumbest person in my class. IMO To get a 60 and still get an A is the professor way of telling you:
" You got a good grade but you don't deserve it"

Since the prof didn't post the scores for everyone to see... after the 2nd test I tried to drop the class... but the prof told me that I was just about dead center average for the class... so I stuck it out.

I have to agree that it was one heck of a curve.

I later found out that I probably should have taken Physics 125, which was for non-engineers. :)

I remember a calculus test I took I got a 76 and it was the second highest grade in the class... The highest was 83 and noone else came close to touching those two scores; average was somewhere around 40. It was a 10 question test and 3 of the problems took me around 40 minutes (50 minute class)...

I've taken two classes where 60+ was an A. It was software engineering and the other was operating system concepts. FIrst was easy second not so much so...

Not true. I've taken classes from a few different teachers that design their tests around either the average being 40 or grading by standard deviation and designing it so noone should beable to get anywhere close to a high % grade.
