Maybe playing devils advocate a bit here, but I do give Trump credit for North Korea.
He certainly started things moving in the right direction, well as far as we can tell.
South Korea is now talking with North Korea, I give that achievement to Trump.
And North Korea removed the nukes from their military parade. That was something.
And Trump has started a one on one dialog with North Korea, which is much better to have dialog than a stand-off.
Not only do I believe this is the best of Trump we have seen, and he deserving full credit, but we have to face it.... this was something Obama probably would have never considered during his administration.

Sure, it hurts to say something good about Trump, and maybe this Trump/Korea thing was just some fluke?
Some positive spin-off from misguided intentions. A comedy of errors that turned into a plus.
Maybe Trump simply stumble into all of this, or possibly Trump listened to his advisors having recommended such a meeting?
Planned or not, Trump can take credit for starting a dialog between the north and south. And if we can believe what we see, putting the idea into Kim's head that prosperity is better for North Korea and it's people than poverty and isolation.
Yes, Trump did that. Hard to believe, but it appears that way.
However it all came to be, it came to be.
And I seriously doubt Obama would have ever tried this, or Hillary.
Trump is just nutty enough to try something like this and for once he may have made the right decision.
Or stumbled into it.

If Trump were smart and not so paranoid. this could become his niche as a president. His thing.
Getting enemies to start friendly dialog with one another. And he himself personally instigating such dialog.
Doing that would hand us all a more secure world and future. Something that could last far beyond the likes of Donald Trump.
If I were Donald Trump, I'd focus on world peace. Continuing with what he has started.
Thinking outside the box, if this was indeed that.
Meeting with those that hate us, and trying to heal wounds.

I also give Trump credit for not starting new wars.
And Trump doesn't seem to care about the wars currently active.
Trump has his flaws, but I doubt war hawking is on his agenda.
Even Obama fell into the war hawk thing. Certainly GW and Dick Cheney very much enjoyed it.
But I don't think Donald Trump much cares for that.
Trump rather shoot off his mouth with threats than shoot off bombs and send in troops.

Wouldn't it be something if Donald Trump turned out to be the president of peace, exceeding not only Obama but Jimmy carter as well?
Wouldn't that be a kick in the head.
Failing to bring America together, but instead bringing North and South Korea together.
He can divide America, while uniting with our enemies.
I smell legacy Donald...... and isn't that what its all about? Really? For any president?
Especially for someone so insecure and paranoid as you?
After all, a legacy as the president of peace isn't all that bad.
And it possibly could just get you re-elected in 2020.
Possibly... ;)

NK probably recognizes that Trump is actually deranged enough to do something to them.

Yes, open dialog is the best thing to do for someone that hate you, so by just doing dialogue you can do so much better than just tell someone to do something, maybe NK just like that bully kids that just need some understanding.

Unfortunately, NK has always lied and deceived time and time again. It would be naive to think that they had changed. I thought I had read that they took a short break (probably looking for better ways to hide the work). O would like to see positive progress for Korea and would happily credit whoever makes it happen (even if it is a total fluke) but I am not holding my breath.

I agree that had it not been for Mr. Trump, NK and SK would probably not be in such close talks. What would you do when you understood exactly who the new American peace broker is? Run for the hills and try to make your own peace before 'The Ugly American' starts WW3! We can't play diplomacy games with those stakes and actors. Eek!

Meanwhile we still give billions to the Israeli genocidal regime and help them commit crimes against humanity.

Don't forget KSA, the world's number one terrorist sponsor.

On topic, while I sincerely hope that the NK situation gets resolved, I don't see how Trump specifically had anything to do with it. The North Koreans got their nukes, and now they're trying to get nations to drop sanctions after the fact something which would have probably happened regardless of who is the POTUS. I might be wrong and his brinkmanship might have helped, but I doubt it.

Only a fool would buy a bombastic loudmouth salesman's junk, regardless how well packaged the junk is.

Are you talking about Donald and Kim Jong Un?
Or are you talking about 62 million Americans and Donald?

Is this a joke? North Korea and South Korea have had repeated close talks over the years and this is nothing particularly special. The only thing that Trump accomplished was showing South Korea that they couldn’t bank on US support anymore and it gave China an opening to decrease pressure on NK, something they have definitely done.

The US situation in Korea is considerably worse now than it was a year ago and we have nothing to show for it. Total failure.
