No, it can be really useful. I didn't get any training though, just had to pick up as much as possible by playing around with it.

They aren't too bad, I use them a couple times a week at work here. What version are you guys running?

Anything above 7 is pretty decent. If you need some tips, drop me a line. I should be able to help you.
 
We have a couple of db's Access, Oracle, and a proprietary one.

We are using 5.0 that came with the proprietary DB. We also have 8.0 that came with our LIMs system, even though the LIMs people just realized that there is an incompatibility with their system and 8.0, so they'll be using 7.0.
