I get this warning from the taskbar stating that my system is low on virtual memory and that its going to do blah, blah and blah. How can I be low on virtual memory. I have a gig of system ram, an 80 gig SATA drive with 65G free and a 160GB IDE drive with 127GB free. WTF?

Your virtual memory is set in the system properties. It happens when you have lots of applications and the RAM dumps into the virtual memory and it keeps expanding until the virtual memory is full, which causes it to say that the system is low on virtual memory. Although, IIRC, Windows should automatically increase the size of the virtual memory to compensate.

The "blah, blah, and blah" part of the taskbar message is that it's going to increase the size of the virtual memory.

With one Gig of system memory, anything that is consistently filling up virtual memory has got to be Spyware/Malware/Virus. Do a few scans with tools like Adaware, Spybot, HijackThis or many others.
