Most of the newer e-mail sites offer a built-in spam filter (yahoo, gmail). If that doesn't work, a lot of those e-mails will probably have an unsubscribe option at the bottom that will get you off of their mailing lists. I think there is also 3rd party spam filtering software but not sure about that.

If you don't mind paying $20/month and have your own domain: www.SpamStopsHere.com

Otherwise I think Outlook may have filters / rules like Eudora but someone else (or Google) will need to explain those.

I wouldn't recommend trying the Unsubscribe on the Spam emails. Don't even open them.

Cloudmark makes a spam filter for Outlook/OE, but I now see that they charge $40/yr.

Did you try googling "Outlook express spam filter"?

Stop signing up for mailing lists and shareware software and you won't get spam!

p.s. don't opt to remove yourself from mailing lists. If you respond, people will know you're there and send you even more junk. It's best to not open the e-mails, period.

My amount of spam is rediculous (too much to count but at least 500 per day) so I have a spamassassin gateway server which works great. blocks about 99.5% of spam, I'd say. More info in this article on how to set one up.

I'd have to update that article some day as my curent setup is an upgraded version of that and includes AV scanning as well, and imap. Imap rocks, on a local network. (works similar to Ms Exchange or Novell Groupwise)
