I couldn't wait any more. I have to get me new PC built by next week. I wanted a GT or Ultra, but I decided the extra $100 to $200 wasn't worth it after AT's review. Anyway I am upgrading from a GF3 so I think anything will make me happy🙂

By the way BUY.com has the MSI 6800 for 302.99. Plus I used the $15 new customer coupon. It also has free shipping.

Now I will need to get Farcry. I will post some overclock reports once this thing is built. Maybe this card will be a great OCer. Just want to get it near the GT.
 
On eVGA's site they have the new 61.72 drivers. In another thread it has been reported significant gains on 3dmark03 and farcry(20%). You should try them out and see if these gains are consistant for all people with this card, or if its just one other guy.
 
After Anandtech's review, it should have been clear that the 100 dollars WAS worth it. There was a big difference in performance.

At high resolutions and AA/AF this card gets on it's knees in front of the 9800 XT, a last generation card.

If you don't use AA/AF, then this card can give up to 40% improvement over the 9800 XT, but if you do use AA and AF, then you are subject to a loss in performance 20% lower than the 9800 XT.

So, the extra 100 bucks was so worth it.

You could have just bought a 9800 Pro with modded cooling could destroy that card and saved yourself about 60-70 bucks. This could have beaten the 6800.

You just bought the 9600 Pro of the new generation.
 
VIAN, You make a strong argument but it neglects that the 6800 has features and performance that remain untapped in many people's minds. Nothing can stop it from suffering from lack of ram but after having owned a 5800U and seeing the performance improve nicely over time due to drivers, I would rather have the 6800 of the 2. Particularly since the PVP will sooner or later have driver and software support, adding value to the card in a non-gaming area. I think it's largely a matter of personal perspective and priorities and we don't all share the same ones 🙂
 
I cancelled my order. Vian is right. The 6800NU got throttled by the iltra in Farcry. I also did more checking I see several places have an eta for the ultra as 7/22. Good sign for the nVidia cards.

I still have a few days to wait.

Anyone see what kind memory is on the MSI NX6800 Ultra. Is it better than the ASUS and Albatron that AT reviewed??
