I enrolled for an economic game theory class this semester pass/no pass so I could concentrate on my other courses. I got a B-/C+ on the midterm and only did 4 out of 5 problem sets because I figured it wouldn't hurt my GPA since its pass/no pass. I log on this morning (day before final) to check my final schedule and notice that the class is NOT listed as pass no/pass.

My GPA is fvcked.

I once stopped going to a class cause I thought I dropped it, turns out I didn't.

I used to have nightmares in college that I registered for a class and forgot about it completely, only to realize days before the final that I had never been to class and would completely fail it.

One time I showed up to my final exam only to learn that it had been rescheduled. The instructor had announced it during the ONE class I missed that semester. Sadly, it had been rescheduled to an earlier date... so I got a zero on the final.

Luckily I didn't fail, but my 98% turned into a C- after that. If it would have been a D or lower, I'd have had to re-take the class!

Me too! I would dream of have classes and never knowing where they were or at what time, would spend all my time wandering around, knowing failure was imminent!

I used ot have dreams about going to class and then realising it was halfway through the semester and I had never been.

you are not alone, i failed one required class last quarter so i have to make up for the mistake by taking saturday classes until end of the college year (spring.) :(

I still occasionally have that dream, and I graduated from college in 1991. :Q

I will go talk to them, but since I go to UC Berkeley, chances are their going to be bureaucratic PITA's... i mean, i'm sure they hear this 100 times a day... its so easy to say no. =(

I had something like that happen. I had written the final exam time in my planner for 2 hours later than it was actually scheduled and lost the syllabus. I found the syllabus an hour into the exam and RAN to the professor's office. He was going to make me retake the class until I told him I had to take the next semester off to work so I could pay tuition the following semester and then I burst into tears. He took pity on me and dug up a grad student to babysit me while I took the final.

dunno if it would work, but maybe you can blame the phone company or your ISP if you change your grading options via phone or internet.

that was totally my nightmare. except i kept having it for 2 years after i graduated. now Im in grad school so the nightmares came back.

You take the class Pass/Fail. You don't receive a letter grade. If you pass you get the credits, but the course won't factor into calculating your GPA.
