I friggin hate PowerPoint

I can't figure out how to get this damn template to work. First off, the template is just a plain .ppt file, not a .pot file. Okay, fine... so I try it. Insert a new slide, it's blank. Try to apply the selected "nice" slide's format and/or background, I get nothing. Whatever. So I save the original as a template file, add it, and try again. Still nothing. WTF! I've always hated PowerPoint, now I hate it even more.

Here is the secret of a good PowerPoint (or old fashioned slide show). You are allowed a text slide for the title of your talk and, if needed, to slash sponsors names across the screen. If you use text slides for anything else (and you're not a mute) you should kill yourself prior to your talk in order to spare your audience the boredom you are creating. Graphs, maps, photos, diagrams, equations (shudder) are hip but text slides suck ass.
