One of my sisters friends from college gave me a box of old bball cards and I have MJ and Larry Bird rookies 🙂 Gotta love it. I'm never selling these cards, they look so awesome in the screwdown cases I put them in!

The most valuable thing I probably have is my Cal Ripken rookie card. I idolized him and tried to play shortstop, but I ended up in 2nd base anyway. 🙂

I lost my Jordan 3rd year card in a POS Ford when I was a kid. I had bought a pack of cards and had found a Jordan card (was it NBA Hoops?). I was so happy, I started"displaying" it against the car window on the ride home to show other people, and after my mom turned the corner, the card fell through the window sill into the car door.

It was never to be seen again. 🙁

Bunch of Fleer and Topps Cal Ripken rookie card, but my pride and joy is the complete 86-87 Fleer basketball set (red borders) that has Jordan's rookie. Screw social security. I got my retirement right here.

I have boxes full of rookie cards I bought about 15 years ago when I would take my nephew to card shops and shows. They're mainly football and basketball cards though. I haven't looked at them in years, but the favorites I know are Joe Montana's, Magic Johnson's, Larry Bird's, Dan Marino's, etc. Got a lot of Michael Jordan's cards, the earliest is his 3rd year one though. The only ones I've bought in the last few years are Chad Pennington and Byron Leftwich.

I sold my Gretzky rookie card for $130 when I was 20. I think I bought 2 cases of beer, and put the rest towards a Paiste 20" ride cymbal. I wonder how much it is worth now. $130 for a piece of cardboard seemed like a good idea.

I think I used to have a couple of Mark McGwire rookie cards..not much of a sports fan, but I hope they weren't worth too much - I think I gave a few hundred cards (in all) away. 😛
