At my college dorm, we had a liquor store across the street. As some drunk came out of the liquor store we would toss a penny or two next to him. He would think he dropped the coin and start crawling around on his hands and knees to find it. When he would give up, we would toss another coin. We had one guy crawling around for about 30 minutes! When I go through the self-checkout at the grocery store, I leave behind the change. I thought of doing this when I purchased a bottle of soda from a vending machine and upon grabbing what I expected would be 2 quarters, I had 4 quarters. "Jackpot!" I thought - a trivial amount, but still it put a smile on my face. So, I've started leaving the change behind so the next person gets the minor pleasant surprise.
