On my way to work, I stopped at a little ma and pa deli store. I parked near the dumpster for some reason...as I was walking in I noticed, a shoe, some papers scattered about..and a emachine 1 ghz computer tower sitting upside down.

I went to grab it and noticed all the features it had, since the product info sticker was still on the front. 1Ghz,20gigHD,256MB ram, AGP, it has also windows XP home...figured I try and take it home. If it worked I will give it to my mom. Amazingly it worked! The OS wasn't even finished registering yet..good thing the product key# was on the back..I can't believe people just toss this stuff. I checked ebay, they are selling for $100-150..

now for the emachines cracks....Ithankyou

The most valuable I ever found on the street was a $20 bill. Guess where I found it? On the street of NY City...LOL.

Probably because HE was the one to find it, as opposed to finding it stuck in the mud while hiking in the mountains or something.

You laugh, but a couple months ago I saw a homeless guy downtown with a bunch of old computers he had dug out of dumpsters. He had torn the access panel off a streetlight and plugged a complete system into the power outlet in there.
