I have a 40 gig and a 200 gig maxtor. I had to reistall winXP. The 40 gig was the master and 200 gig as slave . I recovered all data from the 200 gig. Now after the install the 200 shows as "c". The XP is installed on the 40 gig and shows up as "f"
Can I change the drive letters without fvcking anything???

thanks in advance.

Microsoft has no official way to change the drive letter of the system drive for XP. You can change the drive letter of any other drive.

In such cases, the easiest thing is to disconnect all the other hard drives and re-format and re-install XP on the drive that you want to be C:

Or just ignore the "problem". It doesn't hurt anything.

RebateMonger is right. You can change the drive letters around, but it won't change
the fact that XP is installed on your 200gb drive. The only way to get it on the smaller
one is to reinstall.
